Yee Haw

I finally have internet! I also finally have a phone line so I can call everyone and bug them again. I have so much to type and catch up with and so much to blog, but it will all have to wait until after Thursday. I am starting a new class on Thursday at a semi-posh school and I have no books or syllabi to teach with and the lady who hired me is M.I.A. most of the time. Needless to say, I have been stressed. I worked on the course with another teacher for 5 hours Saturday night. Saturday night is my time. My time for drinking, dancing, eating, etc., and I do not like working during my time, but I did. Grumble, grumble, grumble.

But I digress. I wanted to post this advert I have seen all over the metro. I think it is the best advert ever and it is French! I am pretty sure the byline translates to something like “London for lovers.”

Yeah no kidding about the grumble grumble. Congrats on being back up online. If you have suggestions on where I could try publishing, shoot for it. Of course, I don't know where to start there. ;-)

The ad is so funny!

Just me said...

We lost our internet service yesterday after just getting it hooked up over a week ago(previously we didn't have access for over 3 months)! It's nice to be back online again isn't it?

That ad is too funny!

First things first - so glad you're online again Angela! I so look forward to seeing you post in a regular fashion again - have missed you much!

And the ad, my goodness, that's a clever one. I will need to show it to hubby - he has his own ad agency and always takes delight in clever ads.

Great that you have internet again. I know that I'm at a point where living without it seems impossible. I'm bereft during those rare times when our internet goes down for a substantial period.

Funny ad!

I love that your sole ambition is to bug people. What else are phone lines for?

seeing as how the ad is for London, and it's getting chilly there about now, shouldn't the egg be hard-boiled? :)

Thanks Rach! Well spoken and I appreciate the defense.

To the random French person who has nothing better to do than to read a blog that you find irritating, in the future when you address me, I would prefer it if you used the vous form. We aren't friends so I would hope that you would show me the same respect I would show you if I were speaking French to you.

"To the random French person who has nothing better to do than to read a blog that you find irritating,"
Cordialement

Anonymous-Sorry for my mistake regarding the vous vs. tu form on the internet, my bad. I think maybe you really are reading too much between the lines. I am only judging France based on my overall experience. However, I do take offense when people (French or otherwise) accuse me of being unfair towards France. I have lived here for more than a year and feel as though I have had a fairly "normal" experience as to how foreigners are treated in this country. This is where my judgement occurs. I am sure France is a wonderful country...for French people. And please remember, I came here with great, elated hopes and dreams and they were all dashed pretty quickly by random French people and the bureaucracy. Thanks for wishing that my situation gets sorted. I do hope things will change for me as well, because as I said in my last post, I would love to be able to go back to the U.S. or another country with something positive to say about France other than I had a few really great friends there, it has comprehensive health care and good cheese.
