An Almost Non-Christmas Post

I am really excited about Christmas and not just because I am going home. Paris really does Christmas fantastically! There are a ton of lights everywhere; I live right by the mayor so the streets around me are so pretty. I can't wait to see Amsterdam (going on Friday and I expect to have so much fun I won't be able to put any of it in print); I bet it looks amazing.
I went to this antique (junk) market last week and got some stuff. It was literally right out my front door and I couldn't help myself. It was cool seeing all the old French stuff as well as vintaged Americana. I was able to buy a few things for Christmas, but not a lot. I kept thinking I would find something amazing, but I guess all of the amazing stuff was gone.

How odd to find "Americana" in France! I would be very surprised to find much of "France" at a flea market here in the midwest! Regardless, it would be fun to flea mkt in France! I would be looking for linens and kitchen paraphenalia.

i love rummaging through antique and flea markets... it's where the best bargains are to be had! the state fairgrounds in raleigh has one each weekend, and sometimes we go in nice weather to dig through the treasures. fun!

i love outdoor markets, and even if there's nothing that catches my eye, i'm compelled to buy something every time. it's so weird...

i love visiting your blog - there's always something interesting to read!

Paris at Christmastime. It's a dream of mine. Someday maybe. At least I've been to Paris.

Merry Christmas to you!

still it looks so exciting to me. It has soul, history and just all that which I miss...

Please let us know about Amsterdam. P wants to go there next year during this time, and well I don't know what is around!

Lille has done a pretty good job too, with all the lights and Christmas decorations. They even have a little Christmas village where they sell all kinds of food/snacks and little knick knacks.

I went to an Auchan shopping center in Englos, and not only were there tons of decorations, but they had real Christmas music playing! It had me really getting into the holiday spirit!
