Museum Weekend
I decided to spend the weekend visiting the local museums. My first stop was at the Musée de l'Erotisme. Before you judge, let me first explain that this museum is mentioned in one of my guide books as being a "classy break from the sleaze." It is near the Moulin Rouge and, yes, that area is not for the faint of heart. Anyway a friend and I went. Guess what? It is in NO way classy. It isn't even anything you would expect other than slightly disturbing. The only thing of interest is the really brief history they give of the extinct brothels of Paris and the artists who frequented them. I didn't take a picture of it (that is why I put one of the Eiffel with this post, well and because I love it). Today I went to the Louvre for 2 hours. I would have stayed longer, but I accidently got on the exit escalator. Next I went to the Marais to see the Picasso museum. It is really nice, but I only stayed for 35 minutes. On the first Sunday of every month, most of the museums are free and open to the public, so both the Louvre and the Picasso were incredibly crowded and I just couldn't be asked to stay much longer than I did.
